Hear what designer Jenn Harkow has to say about her personal design journey:

"My name is Jenn Charkow, I’m the owner and designer of Seattle-based Stone Crow Designs. I started the company in 2010 because I was laid off from my corporate design job. At the time I was really interested in eco-fashion but I couldn’t find what I was looking for. A lot of the product that was available at the time just wasn’t my aesthetic, so I thought I would start my own eco line that is darker, edgier with a twist of punk rock. I’ve always wanted to make sure the emphasis was not only on style but also on the environment. The fabrications that I use at Stone Crow Designs are as eco-friendly as I can find. I use organic cotton, organic bamboo, hemp, tencel as well as the occasional use of Army/Navy parachutes and upcycled fabrics. On occasions I do use some dead stock which creates our limited edition pieces. When I do use dead stock I make sure that the fabric is sustainable, biodegradable, or recyclable. I feel that this is one of the most important aspects of Stone Crow Designs is to utilize more sustainable resources and new technology to help our environment."
